Antimicrobial Stewardship Program

Sponsored by the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program is an innovative and intensive practice-based activity for pharmacists focusing on the pharmacist's role in the area of appropriate use of antimicrobial agents. The program, which emphasizes a health care team approach, seeks to foster the development of a strong knowledgebase in microbiology, pharmacology and disease state management in order to successfully implement an antibiotic stewardship program that will improve patient care, reduce healthcare expenditures and potentially reduce rates of resistance and prolong the longevity of the limited number of antimicrobial agents available to treat infections.

Lab Quality Mgmt System Training

National Training Lab Network

The National Laboratory Training Network (NLTN)TM, a joint program of APHL and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) develops and delivers education programs for professionals in both public and private sector laboratories. Since its inception nearly 20 years ago, the NLTNTM has presented over 4,700 courses reaching well over 284,000 laboratory professionals.

The NLTNTM seeks to strengthen the quality of laboratory practice and the skills of laboratorians performing testing of public health significance. Most NLTNTM courses provide continuing education credits.The NLTNTM offers training in multiple formats to meet learners’ unique needs. Training ranges from broad overviews to step-by-step testing methods incorporating hands-on practical experience.
